    A Rough Ride (4.00 / 1)
This film will be an exceptionally rough ride.  My son is counting the days until he can leave.  There is a limit to how long people will wait and how much they will believe.

South Carolina has stumbled far beyond those limits and the confidence of many of her people in her future is now failing.  My family landed here in 1864.  We've built two towns, three churches and two schools.  My ancestors fought in the Revolution with Marion and Washington and in the Civil War with Johnston and Lee.

Maybe it's all in my head.  Maybe I just need to be more positive.  However, we've seen this moment coming since the end of WWII, possibly since 1828.  I wonder if any of the people who have controlled this state will be held responsible for what they have done to it and its people.

Our land is fertile.  We have a good climate.  We have a generous portion of natural resources.  This was not inevitable.

    It's official (0.00 / 0)
I feel like a traitor for leaving.

    Damn (0.00 / 0)
I think I'll skip that third doughnut tonight.

    I moved here (0.00 / 0)
I moved here willingly from NC.  I have hoped to make it better but I can't see it getting better until folks elect people who care about their fellow citizens.  All this is beginning to make sense why we can't seem to do better. Bud is amazing!

Small consolation:  there is a special place in Hell for the republican haters who exploit the basest of our emotions -- fear of change, fear of outsiders, fear of everything!
