    More SC Republican Racism

    by: Tim Kelly

Sat Jun 13, 2009 at 18:19:15 PM EDT

More great comments from SC Republicans, this time from Mike Green (@gopgreenhouse) on Twitter:

"Just heard Obama is going to impose a 40 percent tax on aspirin because it's white and it works." http://twitter.com/gopgreenhouse

Green is also running Gresham Barrett's campaign for governor.

Green has removed the tweet but you can still see it and responses on the #sctweets feed.

The image below was created using screen shots and has been altered only to create a chronological flow.

According to Twitter, "nmlifestyles" is Chris Lawton, a "Entrepenuer, Patriot, Liberty, Freedom, Prosperity, GOP EXCOM, Constitutionally Conservative, Ron Paul Republican Activist 800-790-7959" from Greer, and "darn_republican" is a "Sales & Marketing Exec | Christian | Speaker | Conservative | Foreign Policy Hawk | Free Markets | Tort & Education Reform | So-Cal Congressional Hopeful..." from LA. "Ragley" is Jay Ragley, the former executive director of the SCGOP and "jphazzardv" is another douche SC Republican.

    Humiliating SC (4.00 / 1)
This is the leadership of the SC GOP, completely out of touch with the complex, diverse world outside of their exclusive universe.

    Racist? (2.00 / 1)
I'm not sure how Green's joke is racist.  Is it racist against white people?  I am white and am not offended.   Yes, it's an anti-Obama joke but I don't think it rises to the "racism" charge the way that the idiotic gorilla comment by DePass does.
It's a joke that I could see some black Republican making as a sort of tounge-in-cheek joke.

    I think it is pretty blatant (0.00 / 0)
arich29206 - I am not overly senstive on issues of race, but I think the 'joke' is, that is the 'funny gag,' of this is that white people work (and black people do not) by comparison.

Actually, Jim Dyke and B.J. Boling are running Barrett's campaign. Green works for Starboard Communications, but Starboard has said that Green is not doing any work on Barrett's account (via TPM).
