    SC Republicans

    How long between scandals?

    by: Carol Fowler

Thu Feb 18, 2010 at 17:55:16 PM EST

Once again, people around the country are wondering whether to laugh at South Carolina or cry for us!  The state's Republican leaders just can't help themselves-they brag about their values, but fail to live up to the standards of most of South Carolina families.

Today, many of us picked up our newspapers to see that SC Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom has been carrying on an affair with another statewide Republican candidate.  It seems that every couple of weeks some self-righteous Republican leader in SC provides more fodder for cable news shows and late night comedians!

To help our friends keep up with all the scandals, we've developed a new website.  Visit http://www.scgopscandal.com/ to see at a glance just how long since people around the country have been given another reason to poke fun at our state!

And if you think we deserve better leaders than SC Republicans have provided, join us in working to elect Democrats.  Visit http://www.scdp.org/contribute/ to contribute or http://www.scdp.org/actioncent... to volunteer.

    More SC Republican Racism

    by: Tim Kelly

More great comments from SC Republicans, this time from Mike Green (@gopgreenhouse) on Twitter:

"Just heard Obama is going to impose a 40 percent tax on aspirin because it's white and it works." http://twitter.com/gopgreenhouse

Green is also running Gresham Barrett's campaign for governor.

    Kevin Hall Is Scary

    by: Tim Kelly

Tue Feb 17, 2009 at 15:13:01 PM EST

It's not really our business here who the GOPhers choose as their next state chairman.  For my money, I'd like to see them lure John Graham Altman out of retirement because that crazy SOB would surely drive lots of people into the arms of the Democrats.

I don't know a whole lot about Rick Beltram except that other Republicans think he's nuts, and when crazy people think you're off your rocker, there's probably "some there there."

Karen Floyd, of course, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Howard Rich. Her selection as chair would signal once and for all that the core mission of the 21st Century SC Republican Party is to pay white people to go to private schools, and it's not necessarily a bad thing for my side to make that fact perfectly clear.

But the guy who scares me most, as a Democrat, is Kevin Hall - because Hall is the candidate most likely to keep Democrats in the permanent minority.

I've known Hall for nearly 25 years, and he is as true-blue Republican as they come. Besides his ideological purity, Hall is one of the smartest guys I've ever known. He knows what makes voters tick, and he knows how to raise money.  In a year when Democrats can make real gains with a lot of hard work and a little luck, we'd be damned unlucky if Republicans pick Hall.
